Matrix
Matrix is the roughcast for porcclain wares after baking. There are tilematrix, jar matrix, mud matrix, pot-tery matrix and porcelain matrix.
Glaze
Glaze is a thin matcrial to cover the roughcast surface of porcelain and pottery. The colors of the glaze are blue, black, green, and red etc.
Blue and White Porcelain
The blue and white porcelain is un-derglaze color porcelain made by drawing painting on the matrix with oxide cobalt, then applying trans-
parent glaze and baking in tempera-ture of 1300℃ kiln. Because the underglaze cobalt became blue color
Celadon Porcelain
Celadon is made by applying glazemixed with iron on roughcast then baking in reduction situation.
Black Glazed Porcelain
When the iron content in glaze reach8~10%,after baking in high temperature,the porcelain become blackish brown color,it is called Black Glazed Porcelain
White Glazed Porcelain
The porcelain color is mainly de-cided by color dose in glaze, when iron content in glaze below a certain standard, the glaze color become pale white, it is called white porcelain.
Black-and-white Color Porcelain
Applying white and fine decorationsoil on roughcast,then painting in detail by brush with black color material,covering with thin and transparent glaze,after baking it be-
come black-and-white color porcelain.
Carved Design
Carving flower design on dried or half dried roughcast by knife shaped tool of bamboo, bone, and iron.
Incised Design
Incised floral design on half dried roughcast by needle shaped tool made from bamboo, bone, or iron.
Impressed Decoration
Impressed decoration is made by stamping the mould on half dried roughcast to form the design.
Applied Floral Decoration
Applied floral decoration is made by sticking thevaried design, formed by mould and sculpture with mud matrix, on the roughcast.
Carved Design
It is one of the porcelain and pottery decoration techniques, there are two types, one is carved design remain-ing the flower, another is carveddesign remaining the background.
Spot Coloring
It is also called brown spot,one of the techniques on porcelain and pot-tery decoration
Interlocking Pattern
A decoration pat-tern on porcelain wares, branches and stems interlocked and forming continue wave lines.
Floral Spray Pattern
A floral spray is painted on the prominent section on porcelain ware.
Comb Pattern
Using comb shaped tool to carve or stamp comb pattern.
